He has honed his skills in designing industrial, medical, and consumer electronics while working with multi-disciplinary teams and specializes in providing human-centered design-based approaches to engineering.

Credentials

While successfully delivering numerous products to market over the years, King, a member of the IEEE, also actively mentors engineers and students, encouraging them to continue learning while offering career guidance at UIC and at Northwestern where he serves as a Segal Design Institute Affiliate. King holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a BS in Computer Engineering from UIC.

Industry Experience

King’s experience spans a multitude of industries. Starting his career at HLB, he has where he worked with ethnographic and sensor-based research teams; collaborations that resulted in the development of technology assessment studies to identify solutions to design problems or roadmaps for innovation, known as smart data. Following HLB, King applied his skills at RTC Industries, where he managed multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams in the development of leading-edge interactive retail technology from concept to manufacturing and deployment. During his time at Inventus Power, King worked as an Electrical Engineering Group Leader where his team designed novel energy storage solutions for commercial, medical and military customers around the world.

Extracurriculars

In his spare time, King enjoys playing tennis and golf.
