Episode 46 – Reinventing Sea Travel with Billy Thalheimer of REGENT

In the 46th episode of IoT Podcast: Over the Air, Ryan Prosser, CEO of Very, is joined by Billy Thalheimer, Co-Founder and CEO at REGENT. They discuss how REGENT came into being, the concept behind their design, and how they will change the face of transportation when launched. Billy Thalheimer is an engineer with expertise in leading all aspects of aircraft development. He worked at Aurora Flight Sciences before founding the REGENT company. During his time at Aurora Flight Sciences, Billy was responsible for developing new programs in vehicle design and technology maturation to support Aurora/Boeing’s portfolio of future air mobility solutions. He led technical program execution, financial management, and strategy for eVTOL aircraft programs, and worked as an air vehicle conceptual design engineer. He is the brains behind the seagliders.

Billy has overseen the growth of the company to over thirty employees and of the commercial backlog to over $7B in seaglider orders and raised over $30M from world-class investors like Founders Fund, Mark Cuban, and Peter Thiel. REGENT is an IoT company that uses technology to innovate a hybrid plane to move in both water and air.
